Being at one with nature has always been a great source of healing for me. I confess that in the hurriedness of life, I don’t always take time to soak in the natural works of art by God’s creation. Last week I was blessed with an opportunity to explore the small bay side village of Los Osos on the central coast of California.
Each day was a new adventure with the wonders of nature in the ever changing climate by the bay. I had the opportunity to sit quietly watching the sunset at the waters edge and to walk in the early morning mist surrounded by grand Eucalyptus trees overseeing the beautiful estuary at Morro Bay. I strolled among bright yellow wildflowers, through rolling grape vineyards and close to egrets, black oystercatchers, plovers, pelicans and red feathered blackbirds. I hiked Montana de Oro park through rugged lavender laced trails leading to the vast sandy beach of the Pacific ocean.
With rain, sun, clouds and rainbows the grandness of Gods creation filled me with a renewed peace and joy that comes from walking with Him and coexisting with his creation. I am humbled by the awesome wonder of his gifts of nature and my hope and trust in God is strengthened.
I am reminded that I have an opportunity to receive all of God’s gifts every single day if only, I open my eyes, my mind, my spirit and my heart to Him.
Here are some photo’s to share my experience with you.
16 For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. Colossians 1:16 (NKJV)
This brought tears to my eyes. How often do we get so caught up in the daily grind we forget to look up, to look out or across to the beauty He puts in front of us every day, His sunrises, butterflies, spider webs shining with dew. There is nothing our Shepherd can't repair, what more can we desire? Your pictures were so beautiful. Thank you for sharing this with us.
ReplyDeleteIn these really hard times friend I hope you also remember the words you wrote to us last week about how everything is made by God and for God. Our Father has you and your family wrapped in His big strong arms!
